Soler picks Top 5 games for Valencia CF

The midfielder chooses standout matches from his 150 appearances for the club

After reaching 150 games for Valencia CF, Carlos Soler selected his Top 5 games so far for the club. Brought up through the VCF Academy, the 23-year-old has established himself as a first team regular and a great representative for Valencia CF.

January 21st, 2017: VILLARREAL CF 0 – VALENCIA CF 2 (LALIGA)

In only his seventh game for the first team, Carlos Soler scored his first goal for Valencia CF. The team needed to win against regional rivals Villarreal CF, a side in the European places, and got the victory with the help of their VCF Academy product. His goal, struck left footed, started off the scoring.

 

April 6th, 2017: VALENCIA CF 3 – RC CELTA 2 (LALIGA)

Another standout game for Soler also came in his first season with the senior squad. At Mestalla, with five minutes remaining of the game, he produced a spectacular chip from the edge of the area to earn the win for Valencia CF.

 

November 7th, 2018: VALENCIA CF 3 – BSC YOUNG BOYS 1 (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE)

A first UEFA Champions League outing for the prodigious talent was given in the 2018/19 season, and he took the opportunity with both hands. He was one of the standout players in the continental competition for Valencia CF, getting into the 'Best XI' picked by UEFA. One of his most notable games was at Mestalla against Young Boys, in which he scored his first goal in Europe and also provided an assist.

 

April 14th, 2019: VALENCIA CF 3 – LEVANTE UD 1 (LIGA)

A clearance from Soler ended up in an own goal. Although that would normally mean a day to forget, the midfielder believes that it was an important part of his learning process. He immediately responded to create a goal to put Valencia CF 2-1 up, combining with Gonçalo Guedes.

 

May 25th, 2019: FC BARCELONA 1 – VALENCIA CF 2 (COPA DEL REY)

Part of the starting lineup for his first final with Valencia CF, Carlos Soler produced a magnificent performance and was key to the Copa del Rey victory. His sprint down the right left behind Barça's Jordi Alba, and his pass to Rodrigo Moreno set up the striker for the second VCF goal. He lifted his first trophy with his boyhood club on an incredible day.
